Training Information
My personal experience is that people learn the solution-focused approach by
experience and discussion. While some material is presented didactically,
trainings focus largely on providing activities, video samples and supervised
practice. I recommend a minimum of three days to learn the basics.
If it can be arranged, it is best if the first two days are sequential and the
third day is held about one month later. In the initial two days, the
philosophical basis and beginning techniques can be presented. It is
expected that participants will be using the approach between training periods.
The third day is focused on what the participants are learning and what further
information they need.
I will work with organizations and individuals to adapt the training to their
respective budgets and time constraints. During and after the training period, I
remain available by Email and certainly follow up sessions can be arranged.
Advanced Trainings can also be arranged. I recommend a two-day
sequential advanced training. It is expected that participants have
already had a basic training, are using solution-focus and will present their
own work. The training is oriented toward furthering skills and the agenda
is built around the participants' stated needs.
Trainings can be arranged at an organization's own site. If there
are a number of individuals in a geographic location who are interested in
training, this can also be arranged. It would be expected that the
training facility and any equipment will be arranged by the host organization or
individual(s). It is recommended that the minimum number of trainees is 10
and the maximum 20. Fees are negotiable. Suggested fee is $1,500 per
day plus expenses.
Supervision Groups can also be arranged. I am willing to travel
to meet with several individuals who are interested in enhancing their skills.
Groups can also be arranged locally in Orange County, NY.
This website includes a survey of interest.
